4 Month Favorite Things

So I'm late with the 4 month favorite things... so shoot me

I can only say we have 2 things to add to the favorites list this month.  Things haven't changed much around here.  Ezra is a jumping machine, we love our fisherprice seahorse, and the grapes still make the diaper bag every day.

Diaper sprayer

This is my new BFF.  Affectionately called "the crap blaster," it is a homemade attachment to our toilet.  Basically it blasts all the "solid waste" (aka poop) off the dirty diaper and sends it into the toilet where it belongs.  Ezra's poop has not made it to "ploppable" yet, and I refuse to scrape (yes, folks, these are the things you must contemplate when diapering, plopping/scraping/blasting poop) so the sprayer is a necessity to keep the nasties out of the washing machine.

Mike the Builder was able to McGyver a sink sprayer to the back of the toilet.  Retail, a diaper sprayer will cost you about 40 smackers.  Mike saved us about 30.  Sweet.

The sprayer is also good for cleaning the toilet and sink, and spraying Mike with cold water when he's in the shower.

Kodak Playsport HD Waterproof Video Camera

Love this.  It is basically like a Flip video camera except you use a memory card instead of internal memory.  It fits in your pocket and is super easy to use.

We have a larger video camera that we just don't ever take out to take quick videos of the little guy so this is perfect.  I love to record short videos of all the cute things he does and this works great.  The picture looks good and it's really easy to transfer to the computer.  I love that it's waterproof, too, so that I don't really have to worry about it around the pool or when covered in Ezra's drool.

Plus, we got in on clearance at Target.  Sah-weet.

Blobbing

Apparently that's what Mike thinks I do.

He informed me yesterday evening that "the new thing" is parenting blobs.  You keep blobbing until you get people to sponsor your Blob and then they pay you.

He told me that's what I should do, get a blob sponsor.

I informed him that although I may have about 40 people who "read" my blob - there probably aren't any sponsors who's product could earn tons of revenue by advertising on my blob.  But I'll work on it ::insert eyeroll::

Then I told him that if he continues to call it a Blob instead of a blog - I will make fun of him.

"Blog?" he says, "Who came up with bloG? That's a weird word.  I like blob better."

At least he's showing an interest in what I do. :)

P.S. if you would be interested in sponsoring my blob to reach all 43 of my readers, please email me ;)

How to make a teacher's day

Scene - kidney table, teacher and student reviewing flashcards of sight words

Me: We're going to go over your sight words now

Student: Why do we always do this? I don't want to.  Its BO-RING

Me: This is how we practice to get better at reading, so you can read fast like teachers!

Student: I don't want to read fast like a teacher - I want to play a game.

Me:  (completely frustrated and ready to pull the recess card) I know, but this is what we have to do.  Ready?

Student: (reluctantly)Fine - the, am, go, please, pretty - like you!

This is the same student that told me that people who kill birds to hunt are bad because without birds "how could we learn music?"

It doesn't take much to make my day!

$Going Green$

and I'm not talking about the environment or the beer on St. Patrick's Day.

One of my new hobbies is searching for great deals - coupons, coupon codes, clearance sales, whatever.  I've joined a few deal websites that I love and want to share with you.

One website that I love is Ebates. I have said before that I love free stuff and I especially love free money.  That is basically what ebates.com gives you.  You get a percentage of what you buy online back in CASH.  yes cash.  Not a discount, not some prize, not some silly gift card to somewhere that you'll get in 4 months with all kinds of restrictions.

Basically what you do is sign in through their website and then click on a link to another website to make a purchase.  For example, I just bought Ezra's Easter outfit from The Children's Place.  So I logged on to ebates, then found the link to The Children's Place and then made my purchase.  Ebates will send me 3% of what I spent in a month or so.  Pretty awesome.

They have all major and many minor retailers and also give you any current discount codes on the site. Each site has a different cash back amount and sometimes they run specials.  If you want to sign up, (I'd love your referral-it gives me free stuff-yes, I'm trying to bribe you) Just go here.

Two other websites that I frequent are

Hip2Save
and
Totally Target - because we all know I love to shop at Target.

Basically they post deals throughout the day - either from other websites, in store, or whatever.  It's so exciting to jump on the internet and find some awesome deal that I didn't know even existed.  I've gotten a few free magazine subscriptions (and some for close to nothing), free return address labels, a free Discovery Channel DVD, Pampers gifts to grow points, coupon codes, and few other things for just shipping or very low cost.  Love. it.

I'll keep letting you guys in on some of the ways that I'm trying to save money - although, I'm not sure if I'm always saving money or if I'm buying more things just because they're on sale!!

The world according to Ezra

Probably the cutest video ever recorded, it's Ezra telling me all about his day.  I would imagine it includes things like "I visited my aunt and Nana today" "I missed you so much today, Mommy"  "You are sooooo beautiful!" and of course "Wow, look at that...."

A mom can dream right?
