Nursery beginnings...

Picture this.

6 month pregnant woman squished in the back seat, ear to the roof, sitting indian (well, Native American) style ON TOP of the seat folded down, next to 2 gallons of paint, a large box containing a gazebo, a bag of chips, and peanut butter M&M's (hey, don't judge, all this shopping made me hungry).

We had so much stuff in the car, that I couldn't fit in the front seat. It was a short ride... and now we have all this new stuff! This is what happens when you make a home improvement trip in your car... instead of your truck. Lesson learned.

So in nursery news, we picked out the paint. Which was overwhelming to say the least. We decided on Lake Country (I tried to find a paint chip online but I couldn't find one). Here is a room with walls that are "Lake Country"

I think we're going to skip the lady painting in Ezra's room.

The fabric's that I picked for the bedding are here:

The striped fabric is for the crib skirt, the circles and swirls are going to be for the bumper. Since I'm sewing my own bumper, for less than 20 bucks, I'm not concerned that I might only be able to use it for 5 minutes - until it becomes a safety hazard for the babe. I also bought enough to make some other things for the room, possibly curtains, pillows, who knows.

All we need now is a nice white ceiling fan, and the room's complete! (well, the getting the things for the room is complete, assembly is for another time)

Here's me at 24 weeks 1 day

I officially lost my feet this week somewhere between here and Washington DC. The adventures in DC will have to be for another day... M is still having a hard time laughing about it all.

Please tell me to put the credit card down...

So, I've been buying a few baby things lately. It's like once I started I can't stop. Not to mention the Target discount doesn't help.

I think it started because we just finished our registry. By "we" I mean "I," Mike proved a little too overzealous for the scanner gun, and I ended up deleting more than we kept. "No dear, we don't need 13 different types of wipes, but thanks for suggesting it." We now have a registry at Babies 'r' Us and Target, plus one at kellyscloset.com (password is 1234 if you want to check it out) for cloth diaper stuff.

I bought this cute outfit for Mike, it says "Chicks dig scars." If you know him at all, you'll get it.

They also had a serious baby sale at Target. I scored a nice, rocking, wooden bassinet for almost 50 bucks off.

I also got a Graco Snugride car seat and Snap-n-go stroller combination for 75% off (plus discount). I'd kind of been stalking it since we saw it get marked down about a month ago. I didn't think they'd have one left by the time it went to 75% off. It's not the carseat we want, but we'll either sell it for a little bit of money to someone who needs it or give it to my parents to use. The Snap-n-Go stroller goes for $70 at BRU. I couldn't pass the deal up, I got the carseat and the stroller for less than half of what the snap-n-go goes for. Sweet Deal.

This isn't the pattern we got, but it is the set.

I know I've been slacking on the weekly poll, and I promise the next post will be nursery dedicated. :)

Here's me at 21 weeks

How far along? 21 weeks

Weight gain/loss: Last appointment I was up 3, so still down 2 overall, but I think in the last two weeks I've definitely gained. Please see the cravings section and you'll understand why.

Maternity clothes? All the time, and I did squeeze myself into a bikini this weekend. I decided after trying on a few maternity bathing suits that I would be more comfortable bearing the belly.

Stretch marks? Not yet!

Sleep? The peeing is getting really annoying, but otherwise I'm sleeping fine. I do enjoy a good nap, too.

Best moment this week? Shopping!!

Food cravings: Ice cream - like a turn around and go back to Dairy Queen craving. It's insane. (and a little embarrassing)

Gender: Boy! We are most likely going to go with Ezra as the name, too. We've both loved that name for a while.

Belly button in or out? In, and my hot-poker belly button pain seems to have passed. For about 2 weeks I couldn't laugh because it hurt my belly button. Very strange.

Movement? Feels like he's jumping around a lot. Feels like gas/digestion, but much more frequent and noticeable. Usually he's active when I'm not. I'm sure this trend will continue through college.

What I miss? Nothing

What I'm looking forward to: Outside kicks. I can't wait for M to feel him.

Weekly wisdom: Today I am pregnant, and I love my baby.

Milestones: Half baked!!

Another blog I'm loving to read right now...

This is a very sad blog from a girl who tried forever to get pregnant and then just recently lost her baby at 17 weeks. I am utterly amazed at how positive she is. Her blog is a true testament to her faith. If you're bored (and have a few tissues) I suggest checking it out. Send some prayers her way, too. ;)

For those of you that were curious...

A few people have asked me questions about why/how we chose pocket cloth diapers. One of the blogs that I follow posted this and I thought I could share. It explains the process and why pocket diapers are the most popular.

Enjoy!
